Eligibility & Certification Requirements
Before earning your FAA Instrument Rating, you'll need to meet the following certification requirements. Throughout your training, IASCO's instructors will help guide you through each milestone and ensure you're fully prepared before moving forward.
Hold a Private Pilot Certificate, or be concurrently applying for one.
Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Receive the required training endorsements from a qualified flight instructor.
Successfully complete the FAA Instrument Knowledge Test (Written Exam).
Pass the FAA Instrument Practical Test (Oral Exam & Checkride).
Demonstrate the required aeronautical knowledge established by the FAA.
Demonstrate the required instrument flight proficiency and procedures.
Complete the required aeronautical experience and flight training for an Instrument Rating.
Note: FAA certification requirements are governed by 14 CFR §61.65. Your instructor will ensure all applicable requirements are met before recommending you for your checkride.
